Risks, downtime & aftercare

All cosmetic procedures carry risks. We’ll talk you through the risks, likely recovery and aftercare for your treatment at your consultation, before you consent.

Possible side effects

Depending on the treatment, side effects can include redness, swelling, tenderness, bruising, bleeding, itching, flaking or dryness, temporary changes in skin colour, and less commonly infection, blistering, scarring, allergic reaction or an unsatisfactory result. Treatments involving needles or injections carry additional risks that we’ll explain.

Downtime

Downtime varies from person to person and between treatments. Some people return to normal activities the same day; others need several days for redness or swelling to settle. We’ll give you a realistic guide for your skin and plan.

Results

Results vary between individuals and are not guaranteed. Some treatments need a course of sessions, and results may not be permanent.

Consultation, consent & aftercare

• Every treatment follows an individual consultation and assessment, including your medical history. Suitability is assessed at consultation.
• You’ll receive written information and give informed consent before treatment, and you’re welcome to take time to think it over before going ahead.
• Treatments are for clients aged 18 and over.
• We provide written aftercare and follow-up. Contact us on 0405 310 312 if you have any concerns after treatment, and seek medical attention if you think you have an infection or a serious reaction.
• If you’re unsure, we encourage you to seek a second opinion from your GP or another qualified health practitioner.
